Meet Sonia Hightower Author of Afterburn

I was asked to be part of this wonderful authors Blog Tour and jumped at he chance. I just got her book and so far I am finding it a real page turner. She will be giving one of you a chance to win a PDF copy of this eBook. Just leave a comment for her on my blog and she will be picking the winner in a weeks time.

In one swift movement, Grant grasped her by her hips and flipped her onto her back, following her body with his own till he hovered over her. His dark eyes caught her lighter ones and stared into them intently. "Something clicked with you," he said, his voice husky with emotion. "There's just something there. I knew it from the moment you popped out from under that wheel well and banged your pretty head on that wing." He traced a finger down her cheek.

She felt a stirring within her. When his finger stopped at her lips, she pursed them and kissed the tip. Grant made a wistful sound, but apparently wasn't going to be distracted. "I know with you, you won't hurt me. You have been hurt, just like me, by other people in different ways. There's a feeling of kinship right here." He touched the left side of his chest, placing his hand over his heart.

"I feel it too," Crystal whispered and, feeling a rush of desire for this man, this wondrous,kind-hearted, sexy man, she pulled his finger into her mouth. Her tongue and her eyes hinted at the other places her mouth would go, promising more to come.He replaced his finger with his mouth and, as their tongues mated, she used her body to coax him onto his back once more. She followed him, running her mouth down his neck and his chest, relishing the salty taste of his skin and the vibrations of his moans underneath her fingertips.
She had never felt this sexy, this wanted, this daring in her life. Sex in her past had consisted of awkward fumbling in the dark; heavy, sweaty grunting that ended in immediate snoring. Never before had she gone down on a man without being pressured or coaxed into doing so. Now, as she took his aroused cock in her mouth, she felt no shame, no embarrassment. She wanted to do it. As her tongue tasted him—the maleness, the muskiness, the saltiness that was the very essence of a man—her own juices began to flow again.

Do you do anything to get you into the zone to write?

No. I either feel like it or I don't. I only write when I feel like it. I used to force it, but then the writing wasn't up to par, so now, only when my mind is on it and the words are flowing.

 Which authors inspire your writing?

I really admire Bev Pettersen and Christina Courtenay. Wish I could write like them. I keep trying. LOL

What is your favorite book, character and why?

Molokai by Alan Brennert is my fave book. The heroine is suffering leprosy, but finds love and lives life to its fullest despite her traumas.

Do you prefer to write erotic or sweet?

Erotic is more fun. LOL I sometimes send myself into giggling fits.

Which famous person, living or dead, are you drawn to?

I'd love to time travel and get it on with Cary Grant most of all. I told my husband it wouldn't count (a night with CG) cause it would be like 1945 and before my husband was born. LOL Come to think of it, I may have to pen a sexy ménage story. Classic movie buff time travels to the 40s and finds herself in the arms of both Cary Grant and Humphrey Bogart. *sigh*

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Cursing at laptop with a dog in my lap.

Finish this sentence: I'll know I’ve made it when___I see a print book. ____________?

What advice would you give aspiring writers?

You may think so, but trust me, your work isn't perfect. Listen to your editor. Learn. Grow.

What do you see yourself writing in the future?

No major plot ideas at the moment, but I am doing two joint projects with two talented writers. Will finish those first.

If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?

The ability to brainwash. LOL. I would make people stop discriminating against others for color, handicap, sex. I'd make them see that we are all people with feelings, hearts, souls, and intelligence.

What time of the day are you at your best to write?

Nighttime is when I usually do my thing. I'm not a morning person.

And now for something completely different…

What do you look at first with an attractive man or woman, face, body or smile?

Hair. I'm all about hair. I like military cuts or short, funky dos on men. I like the clean look.

Explain your perfect day.

Coffee, leftovers in the fridge so I don't have to cook, a good submission in my editor email, sunshine and warmth, and a surprise book in the mail along with a huge royalty check. (Hasn't happened yet. LOL)

What is the most decadent desert you can’t say no to?

Cheesecake!!!!!

Do you have a favorite holiday what is it and what makes it special to you?

New Years. I like to pretend I'm leaving the bad stuff trapped in the year before. I also started a new tradition that really seems to help. My NY cousins told me to do this. Take a glass of water or a bucket of water and when the clock strikes 12, throw it, and along with it, your troubles from the year before.

What key words describe you best?

Troublemaker. LOL
