Books Worth Your Bucks-Silas by Hailey Storm and Terra Wolf

Happy Friday!

I have a great quick read for you this week! The chemistry between Silas and Violet sizzle on the page with this quick read. Hailey Storm and Terra Wolf build a wonderful world with a strong plot and endearing characters.

Silas LeFroy has been burned in the past, but his inner dragon can take the heat. Now he's ready to move on however, he didn't plan on the girl next door moving in. His dragon wants to claim her, but he doesn't know where to start.

Violet Hanner is ready for the next phase in her life, one that doesn't involve her cheating ex-husband or the pity-filled eyes of family and friends. Swearing off men seems like the best place to start until she realizes her new neighbor is basically sex on a stick.

When Silas's past catches up to him and Violet finds herself in harm's way he has to make a choice. Stay stuck in the past, or let Violet ignite his future.

Books Worth Your Bucks-Immortal Coil by C.I.Black

Welcome back to another edition of Books Worth Your Bucks. This weeks offering is Immortal Coil, Book 1 in the Dragon Spirit Series. This is a rich world of strong characters and a plot that will pull you into her world. It was so good in fact that I went ahead and bought her second book Shattered Spirits.

Two souls. One Body. Sharing is not an option…

Terrible news has turned Anaea Salis’s life upside down. There’s nothing she can do to make it right and the stranger who stops to talk to her can’t help. But when that stranger, Hunter, an ancient dragon spirit, is viciously attacked and forced to transfer his spirit into her body, Anaea’s life takes a new terrifying twist.

Hunter should have known by now not to get involved with human affairs, but there was something about the woman that drew him to her and he just couldn’t help himself. Trapped in her body all he wants is to get out, except whoever is trying to kill him is now after her.

Their only hope of survival… plunge into the deadly world of dragons.

Books Worth Your Bucks-Kiss of a Dragon

This week's offering is the first book in the Fallen Immortals series by Alisa Woods.

Now I really hate cliffhanger endings, but the story Ms Woods weaves makes you forgive the transgression. It also helps that they are so reasonable priced at .99 on Amazon.
The story of Lucian and Arabella is told in three books, and the plot is strong enough to withstand the episodic handling, though I do wish she put it into one large book. But that is just me I think.
Either way, this is well worth you buck to grab. Her characters come to life with surprising depth, and her masterful the layering brings them to life.

LUCIAN
I am a Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke… and I am dying.

Five hundred years is truly enough for a man like me. A monster. Yet a ten-thousand-year treaty will die with me, if I don’t spawn a dragonling to take my place. My two brothers are no use in this task. It falls to me, the eldest by a hair’s breadth, and yet, I cannot face the horror of another sealing. Another death. Another woman’s blood on my hands.

ARABELLA
I was saved from death in a dark Seattle alley by an impossibly beautiful man who swooped in on golden wings. Now he’s taken me to his lair, opened my eyes to a world of immortals I didn’t know existed, and given me an impossible task—find him a mate. Then, and only then, will he set me free.

He needs her more than he wants; she wants him more than she should; and the fate of both the mortal and immortal worlds depends on not just repairing their hearts, but finding a Love that’s True…

Pick Me Up Monday -Gearing Up for a Very Busy Spring!

My character inspiration for Rogan Nauld of Firestorm. It only seemed fitting to have him adorn this blog post since I'm hard at work on his story. Firestorm will be out this summer just a few months after Soul Fire officially releases.
Dark Breed Enforcer fans have no fear, I've also got the next book going and if everything times right you won't have too long a wait for it.
Spring is coming and I seem to be getting even busier, a good thing for the most part, but can be exhausting. Juggling a day job can make life a bit more complicated when all you want to do is curl up to you computer and write. The real world keeps knocking on the door demanding bills to be paid.
So the juggling act continues. Thankfully it's only eight hours a day I'm committed to, and the rest of the time it's writing, fitting in some time for hubby and housework.
Oh, and I can't forget Hot Mojave Knights! Things are heating up for the event as more interest is being generated daily.
After September I may need a sabbatical somewhere nice and quiet where I can vegetate for a week and maybe just read and paint? Nah, I already know my muse will insist on talking about some plot or character which just has to tell his story. But that's the way of a writers life. Creativity strikes when it wishes and you just have to grab on tight and take the ride.
And on that note friends it's time for me to get back to work, have an awesome week and we will talk again.

Soul Fire -#3 Peek #SPeekSunday

Happy Sunday and welcome to another sneak peek Soul Fire, releasing in February and will be available in eBook.
What do you say when up against a god determined to save his children by any means possible?
Aslynn is soon to find out that her life will never be the same again.

Dear goddess, help me!
Aslynn fought to control the rising tide of magic crashing over her in a crushing wave. This felt unlike anything she experienced before, no gentle beckoning to wrap her into its folds in loving acceptance. No, this was dominating and ancient. A vast profound intelligence within its pulsing depths held her fast, threatening to swallow her sanity. She shrank from the omnipotent presence within the gyrating sphere of the mist, there at the heart of the power.
No, do not fret, daughter of Danu, you have nothing to fear. I wish a boon from your kind to save my people. Do you agree to this?
The voice deep and decidedly masculine thundered in her head, causing her temples to throb. Fear clawed through her and her gut clenched with rising nausea. Her skin burned from the alien magic enshrouding her, searing her as surely as a flame held to her skin.
“P…p…please release me,” she stuttered and cared not if she looked weak.
The power eased back as she fell to her knees upon the soft, cool grass, filling her lungs with sweet air, relishing the simple act of breathing.
I sense your potential child. You are of great import and the key to saving my children.”
Enjoy the other very talented authors who are offering up their sneak peeks for your pleasure.

Pick Me Up Monday -Cover Reveal!

And here it is!

It took an hour and a half for my graphic artist to see my vision. I can't say enough about the talent of Cara Michaels. Not only is she amazing at graphic artist, she is one hell of an author! See her books and more about this fabulous woman at: http://www.amazon.com/Cara-Michaels/e/B0075X2CV0  You will not be disappointed.

I know you all have seen scenes, blurb and such on the much-anticipated  release date for Soul Fire, as it stands right now we are looking at a February date. Much depends on how quick I get my edits back and gets it out to you, my readers. I do have a month long giveaway for the release starting on February 1st at Coffee Times and Romance, of which I am proud to say I am one of their authors. Woopie! I also am working out other great events where you can win a copy of my newest book and will let cover this more within the next few weeks.

On other news, I'm more than half way through the next book in the Dark Breed Enforcers series and hope to have that for you soon as well.
Along with Dark Desire and Soul Fire expect another book from each series, this year as well as...Gasp! I'm trying my hand out on a contemporary romance! Yep, I'm taking a walk on the lighter side of life. Not that I will not write plenty of angst between the key characters, you know I thrive on torturing my characters lol!

I'm also working on several appearances this year. Yeah, I'm a hermit who relishes being in my little shell. Greta Garbo's famous words - "I just want to be left alone" were uttered with me in mind -even if I wasn't even born yet.
Geesh, guys really? I'm not that freaking old!!!
Well I better be getting back to work, have a busy week with a special guest spot on Tuesday 1/14/14 and much more! Hope you enjoy the book cover. Give me your thought if you like, I will respond back...promise.
Have a wonderful week

Soul Fire #2 Sneak Peek -#MFRW

Welcome back.

Sexy dragon shape shifters and the women strong enough to tame their ravaging beasts. Today is another peek at my newest book to be released soon!
Soul Fire is a historical paranormal set in Britain in the early 1200's. As the book starts it's Beltane eve and Aslynn Durry has her hands full with a nasty bit of work. The village smith, William Andrews.

Sneak Peek:

Taking a long piece of white ribbon, she looped over their clasped hands and looked to the heavens. “Tonight we rejoice with the god and goddess. May they keep our lands fertile, our sheep fat and the harvest bountiful? Now go and show your respect to the gods.”
The women scattered their laughter mingling with the boisterous shouts of the men who chased after them into the fog-enshrouded woods. She could feel eyes boring into her back and stiffened, turning slowly to meet Williams’s hungry stare a nasty smile playing on his face.
“We seem to be quite alone.”
Aslynn’s muscles tensed further, her body aching from it. “I shan’t tell you again. Leave me be.”
“Ah, now that, I cannot do. You have only one choice open to you.” He drawled out, looking far too satisfied for her peace of mind.
“I am in no mood for your games. I am going home. Work your wiles upon a female more willing to receive your favors, for I am not.”
“Run.” He snarled, his dark eyes glinting with a dangerous light.

Pick Me Up Monday -Soul Fire Cover Reveal coming next week!

Happy Monday!

Soul Fire is in the hands of my editor who is working her very special mojo to bring the book to life! I'm excited about this book. It started out as a novella and became a book! That's what happens when you do edits. You end up adding layer upon layer to your existing work, taking out what won't work and adding back what will.
I'm working with my graphic designer extraordinaire Cara Michael on the eBook cover and will have a special cover reveal for you next week!
Then it's back to work on Dark Desire, book four in the Dark Breed Enforcer series. I'm also working on the second book to Soul Fire titled Rogan. There is a small preview at the end of Soul Fire and when you can expect it's release. This is just for the next several months! Much more to follow so keep an eye out for what is coming up.
Have a great week all, it's back to work for me.

Soul Fire Teaser for Sundays Peek

Coming January!

Like some dragons in your historicals? How about a few old gods and powerful magic? I have a new paranormal historical series coming out in January with drool worthy dragon shape shifters and the women strong enough to tame their ravaging beast.
Soul Fire is the first book in my new series The Guardians of Drakkan. Here is a little peek at the book which starts it all.

All for one female who didn’t exist.
He spread his wings wide, gliding in a lazy spiral toward the one spot, which gave him some solace against the demons raging deep within his breast. The glen by the mouth of the mountain’s entrance. A trickle of unease filtered through him as he spied fog covering his glen, an unnatural glow pulsing from within its depths.
Anger at the intrusion to his sacred space fed the fever burning his veins, the need to rend flesh, taste blood an overpowering enticement, threatening to tip him over the precipice into blood frenzy. The sound of a woman’s choked scream doused his ire as surely as a dousing of cold water. The unmistakable note of agony, unlike anything he could recall hearing before pierced his eardrums and with a roar, he tucked his wings close and arrowed toward the sound coming from the unnatural mist.
At the last moment, he spread his wings catching enough air to bring him effortlessly to the ground. Hind feet touched the earth, his claws sinking into the rich dirt to deter his forward momentum. Crispin shifted on a thought, gold sparks of energy surged around him. In a flash of exquisite pain, he transformed. His body twisted, bones snapping and his mass shrunk, skin replaced scales. Once again he resembled that of a human male.  His brow furled as he peered into the dense fog, his anger as sharp as a well-honed blade.
“Who defiles my sanctuary?” His voice rang with authority into the glowing mist. “Speak now, or by Drakkan’s talon you shall have much to answer for.”
In reaction to his demand, the glowing fog cleared shying away from him to withdraw back into the woods and leaving the glen with the appearance of untouched serenity. The sound of water splashing over rocks filled the air, yet he heard none of its music as his gaze locked onto a pair of violet eyes.
